Metropolitan Police Service (MPS)

The MPS Safety Camera Operations team operates speed and red light cameras throughout London (excluding the City of London). This department is an arm of the Central Driving Offences Unit which is part of the MPS Traffic and Transport Branch. The Commander of the Traffic and Transport Branch is the MPS representative on the LSCP Project Board.

Through camera enforcement in London, the MPS aims to promote casualty reduction and deal with all offenders irrespective of the time or cost involved. This philosophy sends a clear message to motorists within London that everyone will be dealt with on a level footing and there will not be prosecution of only the easy-to-trace offenders.
